| Amma possesses a range and depth that lends itself naturally to the many different styles that make up the Phuture Lounge sound. Since early releases on UK label Easyjam whilst Amma was still in school, she has gained a maturity to her songwriting and polished her truly formidable live performances. Equally at ease with r’n’b, soul, deep house and downtempo, producers as diverse as Andy Caldwell, Dharma One, Phuturistix, Hardsoul and Kaskade have all enjoyed working with the young vocalist. Fans of Inspirit Music have become accustomed to her smooth, r’n’b tinged melodies, evident on Inspirit singles ‘Close to Me’ and ‘Keep Hoping’, Amma guested on the recent Phuturistix album, released on Hospital Records for the track “Sunshine Lover” over” and recently completed a collaboration with Dutch soulful house giants Hardsoul.
It’s perhaps her live shows and PA’s that best represent Amma as an artist. Whilst her records have found favour with producers and fans alike, as a live performer Amma is hard to beat. An impressive live history has seen Amma perform alongside some of the worlds best DJs such as Sandy Rivera, Kaskade, King Britt, Marques Wyatt and DJ Roog to name but a few. Amma recently completed her first European Tour, featuring a performance at the Portuguese Dance Awards 2004. Amma has vowed crowds across the globe taking her unique soulful sound to clubs and beaches in Miami, San Fransisco, Barcelona, Milan, Lisbon, Cork, Amsterdam, Madrid and more..
Amma is currently in the studio writing and recording her debut album alongside Phuture Lounge producer Jouni Helminen (aka Dharma One). Expect a fresh new UK sound inspired by raw r’n’b and soul with elements of disco and boogie thrown in too. Undoubtedly fresh and original, her debut LP looks to sets itself apart from UK acts that fail to live up to their US counterparts. Look out for the live tour, commencing late 2005.
